Korean-Bangladeshi Relations

Korea has ranked first in actual exports to Bangladesh among the foreign countries which had advanced into the market. Approximately 35,000 Bangladesh workers have found their jobs in Korea. There are about 35 Korean industries and a few NGOs here in Chittagong. The capital city of Dhaka already has its own Korea cultural center. Taking into the close relations between the two countries and the already existing Dhaka cultural center, it is natural that Chittagong needs its own cultural exchange center.

Divisions of Bangladesh, Districts of Bangladesh

Bangladesh is divided into seven administrative divisions, each named after their respective divisional headquarters: Barisal,Chittagong, Dhaka, Khulna, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Rangpur.

Divisions are subdivided into districts (zila). There are 64 districts in Bangladesh, each further subdivided into upazila(subdistricts) or thana. The area within each police station, except for those in metropolitan areas, is divided into several unions, with each union consisting of multiple villages. In the metropolitan areas, police stations are divided into wards, which are further divided into mahallas. There are no elected officials at the divisional or district levels, and the administration is composed only of government officials. Direct elections are held for each union (or ward), electing a chairperson and a number of members. In 1997, a parliamentary act was passed to reserve three seats (out of 12) in every union for female candidates.

Dhaka is the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. The cities with a city corporation, having mayoral elections, include Dhaka South, Dhaka North, Chittagong, Khulna, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Barisal, Rangpur, Comilla and Gazipur. Other major cities, these and other municipalities electing a chairperson, include Mymensingh, Gopalganj, Jessore, Bogra, Dinajpur, Saidapur, Narayanganjand Rangamati. Both the municipal heads are elected for a span of five years.

The Sari (shaŗi) is by far the most widely worn dress by Bangladeshi women. A guild of weavers in Dhaka is renowned for producing saris from exquisite Jamdani muslin. The salwar kameez (shaloar kamiz) is also quite popular, especially among the younger females, and in urban areas some women wear western attire. Among men, western attire is more widely adopted. Men also wear the kurta-paejama combination, often on special occasions, and the lungi, a kind of long skirt for men.

함께 사업하는 형제와 지방 출장을 갔는데 형제가 잠시 다녀온 곳은 먼 친척집이었다. 친척이나 가족이 사는 마을을 가게 될 경우 반드시 잠시라도 들려서 인사를 해야 한단다.
방글라데시에 처음 입국할 때 작성하는 입국 신고서에는 부모님의 이름을 기록하는 공간이 있다. 그 외에도 휴대전화를 개통할 때를 비롯하여 대부분의 서류엔 부모님의 이름을 기록하는 공간이 있다. 방글라데시는 부모님을 통해 신분이 확인되고 보장되는 문화이기 때문이다.
가족과 부모는 보호를 의미한다.

         There are many vital issues in Bangladesh which is disturbing Bangladesh in many ways. Some are corruption, no electricity, and poor traffic system etc. There are some solutions. They are:

1. Government should build nuclear power plant to produce more electricity. Five nuclear power plants are enough for Bangladesh continuous power supply next 100 years. Though there is a matter of money actor but if the government invests in the stock market, they can easily collect the money to build nuclear power plant because of Government default risk is zero.

2.Government should introduce no conventional and renewable sources of energy. If government builds solar energy, wind energy, small hydro power, bio fuel and biomass for supplying electricity to rural area, then load shedding of Dhaka city will be reduced.

3.Another most important issue is that about Public awareness. Most of Bangladeshi is not aware of using electricity properly. Most of time, we switch on electronics without any reason. So government should create awareness through mass media. As we see, in the NSU, lights are always switched on where there is enough sun light. There are many CNG station outside Dhaka where they use more than “100 bulbs for their CNG decoration.  I think it’s just a waste of electricity. For this, government should introduce a new law for misuse of resources and implement the law properly.

4.There are some problems with the policy that is followed in the power sector. This sector was always under government control. Government should encourage large scale investment from private sector. For the success of that strategy, all types of taxes on the import and sale of generators must be fixed at zero per cent. Banks should allow loans without mortgage for purchasing generators and buying raw materials for electricity production. Government should reduce tax; vat and quota for importing power station’s raw materials and government should give subsidy and load to the private sector for building power station.

        These are possible solutions to prevent the problem. Even if there are many other problems, Bangladesh needs to try to prevent it because the problems are making Bangladesh very bad. We should change this disadvantagement to something that we could brag about to other countries.

The test will be held on August 15th. If you attend the training well, your children can attend the festival as well.

Therefore, Special Taekwondo Camp will start from July 7th to August 15th.
